Classic Car Show
Join The Cottage School (TCS) for the annual Cougar Classic Car Artisan Market, Bike and Car Show on Saturday, October 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., held on the TCS campus located at 700 Grimes Bridge Rd. in Roswell. The car show, featuring classic cars and bikes will also offer food trucks, entertainment and arts and crafts for sale. Admission and parking are free. For more information visit CottageSchool.org.
August, TCS expanded its program by adding a 4th and 5th grade class. TCS offers a unique program that focuses on small class sizes, a collaborative student/teacher environment and a work-based model that promotes self-advocacy and fosters self-confidence. TCS provides an accredited academic college preparatory curriculum that meets Georgia graduation standards and HOPE scholarship requirements. Experiential classes and clubs include archery, drama, forensics, horticulture and many others. The school’s 23-acre Roswell campus includes computer and science labs, a multi-purpose athletic and performing arts facility, indoor and outdoor classrooms, and trails for mountain biking and cross-country. TCS offers year-round sports including soccer, basketball, baseball, cross-country, tennis and golf.

The Walk for the Animals is a celebratory 5K walk for you, your dog, your family and your friends in support of the Atlanta Humane Society. Atlanta’s beloved design shop Dixon Rye has recently added paintings from local artist Blayne Beacham Macauley of Blayne Art to live amongst the store’s curated collection of stylish furniture and home décor objects. Blayne’s work includes a variety of beautiful abstract paintings similar to her 48×46 “Lighting in a Jar” piece seen here, which retails at Dixon Rye for $2,279. Blayne, an Atlanta native, has worked as a photographer and artist since 2006. She is also the author of the blog This Photographer’s Life. Dixon Rye is located in Atlanta’s Westside Ironworks at 1085 Howell Mill Road.
With the return of cool evenings and sunset colored leaves comes Rock Chastain 2017. Now in its 4th year, this Chastain Park Conservancy annual benefit concert celebrates all who love Chastain Park. As the date nears for this year’s show–October 21st–so will the reminiscent joys of previous Rock Chastain nights. “Every year the artists are incredible. Knowing that they’re there for the same reasons we are makes the night that much more memorable,” says Brook Skelly, Chastain Park Conservancy Member. “It’s something that everyone who uses the park can enjoy supporting.” The benefit concert is open to all, from daily park users to casual visitors to newly acquainted Chastain Park users.
