College Football Hall of Fame Celebrates Year Three!

Within the last three years, Atlanta has become the most progressive metropolis in the U.S. regarding the development of its sports scene. The recent addition of two magnificent complexes—Cobb County’s new SunTrust Park for the Braves and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Downtown Atlanta serving as the home of the Falcons and United—have rightfully garnered numerous headlines. However, celebrating its third anniversary this past August, the College Football Hall of Fame should be credited for sparking Atlanta’s resurgence for providing cherished fans worldwide with entirely new experiences.

Based within steps of both the Georgia World Congress Center and Centennial Olympic Park, the Hall’s slogan claims to be “More Than A Game. More Than A Museum.” Ultimately, its numerous multi-dimensional attractions, abundance of enlightening facts, meticulously documented history and eye-popping décor keep its promise.

“Some people might look at us as just a museum, but we know we’re much more,” states Dennis Adamovich, CEO of the College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience, in a recent press release. “This year we’ve worked diligently to become a destination for families and for education; a place that honors those that do so much for our community. We are the laces that tie together the community with one common love, college football, and we look forward to building upon the success we’ve had with many more exciting experiences as we finish out 2017.”

Visitors are met by arguably the most stunning visual in the Hall called the multi-storied Helmet Wall in its “Quad” adorned with 760 life-sized college football helmets. Once guests register their school and suggested information, they will receive a fully interactive All-Access Pass on a lanyard which serves as their personal identification account during every visit within 30 days. The helmet of their school will light up to confirm everything is in order post registration.

For a hands-on experience, athletic shoes are highly recommended. Interactive activities include the opportunity fulfill the dream of literally kicking a game-winning field goal through regulation-sized uprights to win the game for your favorite college with no time left. Want to be the announcer of some of the most memorable plays in college football history? Their high-tech sound booths come complete with authentic footage, headphones and a mic to record your personal play-by-play and save it to your membership badge. A special studio will also have you sit alongside ESPN’s GameDay panel and film your input. And no futuristic attraction would be complete without virtual reality: Samsung’s Gear VR with Oculus Technology meets that techy itch.

Regarding physical nostalgia and college football artifacts, there are jerseys worn by Hall of Famers during their most historic games on display, John Heisman’s playbook dating back to the 1920s, and high-resolution visual displays disclosing virtually every NCAA college’s stellar football history.

Besides star-studded events such as the National Signing Day, the ESPN College Football Awards Show, tailgate events, book signings, corporate gatherings and numerous engagements throughout the year, every day has an awesome experience awaiting visitors. Now in its third year, the College Football Hall of Fame will undoubtedly celebrate a lot more for both Atlantans and fans from around the world to enjoy. / 250 Marietta St NW
