Who needs cold and snow to ice skate? Here in Atlanta, we do not! From rooftops to lakeside rinks we have great options. And if it is cold, they all have hot chocolate to warm us up!
Skate the Sky:
Guests will enjoy ice skating in the clouds as The Roof at Ponce City Market transforms into a 3,500-square-foot ice skating rink ten stories above the city overlooking the Atlanta BeltLine and Old 4th Ward. The winter dreamland features over-the-top décor and intimate private igloos that seat up to eight guests. After skating, guests can enjoy other rooftop activities including Faux fur coat mini golf at Skyline Park or Nine Mile Station, a woodland forest with cozy seating areas and warm fire pits.
Skate the Station:
Atlantic Station’s holiday season is going to be bigger, better and brighter than ever with the debut of Celebration at the Station.
“Atlantic Station’s holiday experience is a highly anticipated tradition each year, and we’re excited to welcome our guests back for another year of merriment and magic,” says Kristie Ray, marketing director at Atlantic Station. Skate the Station invites visitors to lace up and take laps around the 10,000-square-foot ice rink decked out in twinkling lights. This Rockefeller Center-like experience has views of Atlanta’s skyline, themed skate nights, and winter treats
Other Holiday Atlantic Station activities include photos with Santa in his Cottage, Snow Shows, holiday shopping and more!
Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee:
What to make a weekend of it? Take the short drive to Reynolds Plantation and enjoy the lake’s festive holiday activities. Glide across the 6,000-square-foot Ice Rink in The Forest. Skate as an Olympic figure skater or boogie to the music under the disco ball over the ice. Other holiday enhancements include Caroling on the Linger Longer Express, a Life-Size Gingerbread Creation and Gingerbread Workshops, Breakfast with Santa and more!
Warm up at the hotels’ outdoor fire pit as you enjoy s’mores and hot apple cider. Overwork those leg muscles on the ice? The spa awaits to finish off your weekend, and if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of Santa on the Lake!
